Part-time Farm Assistant with Land Opportunity

• Part-time position on a 13-year organic vegetable and flower farm

• 1-2 days/week with some schedule flexibility

• Seasonal (March through September)

• Hourly pay (starting at $13-$16 depending on experience) with added perk of a primed plot of organically managed land for your use

 

I’m looking for a curious, motivated individual to join our team on the farm this season. This is a paid, part-time role perfect for a student, a local resident, or a parent looking for some meaningful outdoor work and a connection to growing food.

 

The Work

We will work together on a variety of tasks like preparing beds, planting, weeding, and setting up irrigation; at least a half day each week will be dedicated to harvesting; in Summer, harvest becomes everyone’s main activity. I would also love to share my favorite part of farming, which is problem-solving all the many things that break or go wrong in the course of a season.

 

Land Opportunity

Starting pay for this position will be $13-$16/hour, depending on prior experience. I am also offering a “Land Perk”: you will have access to a dedicated, ready-to-use organic plot with years of soil improvements built in, where you can grow food for your family or experiment with your own growing skills. I’m happy to offer consulting, mentorship, and use of farming equipment to help you get the most out of this perk.

 

Your Qualifications

Age is not a limitation for this role, but physical strength and stamina, especially the ability to do physical work in heat and humidity, are a must. This farm is my home and my livelihood, and so I also value positive attitude, trustworthiness and reliability.
