Pronounced "Mess - kij." With this variety we can extend our scape harvest over additional weeks - building up interest before the other varieties hit.  We generally harvest this variety in mid-late May in our Zone 4 Oklahoma climate.  Smooth flavor that is not overly pungent or hot, and it looks so good!
